IM GONNA POP $OME TAG$!

So Young House Love created a THRIFT SHOP CHALLENGE last week using the song Thrift Shop by Macklemore & Ryan Lewis! And me being obsessed with them & this song I was like, "HECK YES I'LL DO IT!" It was a bonus that it had to deal with thrifting because that is so right up my alley!
If you havent heard the song here is the music video. Now beware he says that little four letter word that starts with an "f" 1 too many times, but I still love it!

I didn't take a picture of me with $20 bucks but you get the idea! I brought along my sister, Sam, since she loves to thrift just as much as me! She also reads Young House Love, because I am such a GREAT sister and told her about them :)

Now we def found some big A$$ coats!
COULD THAT NOT BE THE UGLIEST PICTURE OF ME EVER!?!? I was trying to "model" that clearly isn't for me and I shouldn't quit my day job. JUST SAYIN'. And later on we realized that I was carrying both our crossbody purses because she had handed hers to me when she put her coat on. DOUBLE EW. The funny thing about my sister's picture is the lady in the background, she kept telling us "At least you will be warm" very genuinely too.

Other things from the song we found...
-Moccasins someone else's been walkin' in
-Not "zebra" and we weren't "rockin" them but footie pajamas
-The "Velcros"
&
-A dookie brown leather jacket that I found diggin'

And now for my spoils! I bought this owl for $1.98 and the tiny picture frame on the right for $0.99 but they wouldn't sell me the other because it didn't have a price tag :( Boo to that!

And then this happened...yup I spray painted that little baby yellow! I think it looks super quirky! I just love it! That will not be his permanent spot, as I really don't have much to work with in my living room, but I love to look at his cheery yellow self so for now he's sitting on our side table!
Oh and as you can see my last thrift store find, chalkboard coasters, are def in use here at our house! We love them and our guests do as well!

Much Love, Annette!

  1. Love the owl done over in yellow and the chalkboard coasters are cute too and a good way for people to keep track of their drink.

  2. Great job on the owl - he definitely looks swankier in yellow than the original colours. I love the chalkboard coasters as well.
